Always up-to-date list of my current projects. Starting: Studying the Amis (Pangcah) language. Developing a research project on Amis (Pangcah) Language Standardization and the Production of Indigenous Identity in Taiwan. And we are trying to raise $8000 for Vimukta to help support Budhan Theatre’s children’s program. In Process Together with Alex Golub I’m working on a book chapter about Savage Minds and the role of academic blogs. Waiting for peer review feedback on an article about the making of our last film, Please Don’t Beat Me, Sir! The paper interrogates the relationship between collaboration and ethnographic filmmaking. Editing the first segment of a new film I’m making with Shashwati. The film, tentatively titled “O Sinafel no Pangcah” (meaning Amis Cooking), will be about the role of food in Amis culture. Recently Completed Attended the European Association of Taiwan Studies conference in Denmark in June. My paper was entitled: ”Standardizing Local Identity  Amis (Pangcah) Language Standardization and the Production of Indigenous Identity in Taiwan” Finished shooting for section of film on food in Amis culture dealing with the food competition at the Amis “Harvest Festival” in Dulan in July. Submitted a book review for the Journal of Linguistic Anthropology.
